NIHR Advanced Fellowship

High-quality research has been critical to improving the lives of people living with heart disease. This is particularly relevant to people living with a combination of heart problem, in whom the right treatment must be carefully selected, balancing the effects on each condition.

In September 2024, Dr Ryan was awarded an Advanced Fellowship by the National Institute for Health and Care Research. This prestigious fellowship will support him in delivering a world-leading programme of research into heart failure and coronary artery disease. With a total of £2.7 million over five years, it provides a unique opportunity to change the lives of people living with these conditions.
